If you were invited to the Royal Wedding, what gift would get the bride and groom?

A book on grammar? I assume this was meant to read "what gift would YOU get the bride and groom".

If you had to give up swimming, skiing, hiking, or biking for the rest of your life, which would you choose, and why?

Not like any of this really affects me because I don't do any of them with enough frequency to really give a damn.

But swimming.

Because I can't swim in the first place. 8D

Would you live in the perfect house or apartment rent-free if you found out a brutal murder had taken place there and it was rumored to be haunted? Why or why not?

I live in California.

Housing is not cheap here.

FUCK YEAH, I would live in ANY house that was rent-free. :| There could be a murderer LIVING in the house--okay maybe not. But yeah, if it was supposedly haunted, but it was FREE, I'd live there. :|

You're on a crashing plane and your partner is fast asleep. Would you wake her/him up to say 'I love you' one last time or let her/him die in her/his sleep?

Wonder how the fuck he's still asleep when the PLANE IS CRASHING, which generally results in a lot of sleep-preventing noise and panic, and then start following safety procedure instead of just accepting that we're all going to die.

If there was one person, living or dead, to whom you could apologize, who would you choose, and what would you say?

I haven't known many people who've died. I guess I'd apologize to my grandfather for not going to his funeral. I wanted to, but I didn't think I could handle it. I couldn't even handle him dying in the first place, how the heck would I fare at a funeral? I'd also apologize for not asking him more questions about his life. There's so much about him I'll never know now.

Do you think kids should learn about sex in school, and why?

View 1559 Answers

YES because some parents are fucking STUPId AS SHIT and would rather let their kids believe in the STORK until some snotty-ass little know-it-all decides to tell them AAAAALLLLLLLL about it, the WRONG way. Sexual education is EXTREMELY important, and I believe it should be required by LAW, and also that it should be introduced BEFORE high school. I had "the talk" with my mom when I was SEVEN. I spent the rest of my life until college saying "no" to sex, and I am damn glad for it.

Something that sexual education also needs to cover much better is rape. They need to cover that EVERYONE has the right to say no, at any point during intercourse, and that if they are forced at any point after having said no, it is RAPE plain and simple.

Educating people is the key to prevention, of both underage pregnancies and of rape culture. Kids understand alot more than we think they do. At 7, I was able to understand for the most part what sex was, why you shouldn't do it before you're 18, and before you're ready, and that it is yucky, and results in babies, which are also yucky. I believe it is for that reason that I was never interested in sex until I was out of high school, thus never allowing myself the chance to get knocked up. I believe learning it that early helped me be able to not giggle at sex education lessons, and to TAKE THEM SERIOUSLY. Because I'd already known the basics for a long time, and it wasn't necessarily funny or awkward to me because of that.

sad
So, I started reading one of my favorite books, Howl's Moving Castle today. I decided to do some cleaning and tossed on Miyazaki's movie based on the book.

When I check facebook during a break from cleaning, I find out that the author, diana Wynna Jones died today.

What a strange and totally depressing coincidence. ;____________; I don't really know how to feel right now. Before I ever knew that Howl was originally a book, I read the Chrestomanci series written by her as a really young child. She's been with me all my life, writing these amazing, wonderful books, and now she's not here anymore. I'm so sad I never got to meet her and shake her hand and tell her what a huge influence she was on me.

Rest in Peace, Mrs. Jones.
